Ibby Cline (photo by Carey Colvin)About Ibby

Ibby is a folk-rock singer and songwriter and professional musician originally from Southern California who calls the mountains West of Denver and South of Boulder home. She was given the Beatles’ Rubber Soul and Revolver LPs when she was nine – and as it was for millions of others, there was no turning back after that. She taught herself how to play guitar and sing at the age of twelve to Beatles songbooks, and wrote her first song in college at nineteen.

While Ibby's musical sensibility took root and found a home in loving and listening to the Fab Four, her musical tastes branched out from there and today include a broad tapestry of styles and genres - from rock and roll to folk, from country rock to funk, and from blues to bluegrass. The breadth of this tapestry is reflected in the artists who have influenced her songwriting and her life:  Crosby Stills Nash & Young, Led Zeppelin, Queen, The Kinks, Todd Rundgren, Heart, Yes, Aerosmith, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Elvis Costello, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morissette, and Joni Mitchell, just to name a few.

She has been playing and performing her songs and those of her favorite artists for many years.  Some have described Ibby’s sound as folk rock & roll with the occasional edge; though it may defy simple categorization (like most good music), her sound is uniquely her own.

Ibby counts many well-known artists and the occasional musical celebrity among her musician friends and collaborators. She has performed at many venues in the greater Denver area, at the Fox Theatre and Conor O’Neill’s in Boulder, and in Durango, Colorado. She has also performed in Cheyenne and Laramie, Wyoming; Lexington, Kentucky; Nashville, Tennessee; San Diego, Riverside, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, California.

She plays regularly in Boulder and Denver, and is recording tracks for her debut CD near Boulder and in Los Angeles with producer/engineers Phil Crumrine (Colorado) and Sebastian Haimerl (Groovemasters, Malibu Sound, Los Angeles) for the CD she is recording this fall for subsequent release.

Ibby is a GINA Artist, part of the GINA For Missing Persons FOUNDation.  Each GINA Artist performs concerts to highlight missing persons in hopes that they may be found.  To find out more about GINA, please visit www.411GINA.org
